Inspiración / Inspiration : dottie angel

dottie angel  es Tif Fussel, una de esas persona únicas que hace cosas tan bonitas que no te cansas de mirarlas.

No sabría si definirla como tejedora o bordadora porque su especialidad y elemento distintivo son los bordados de lana o "tatuajes de lana" (como a le gusta llamarlos) en prendas y artículos que previamente ha realizado en punto o ganchillo.

La combinación de ambas técnicas da lugar a unas creaciones originales y maravillosas que me tienen enamorada y me dan envidia de la buena porque me encantaría ser capaz de tener esa creatividad.

En realidad ella es mucho más de lo que recogen estas fotos, así que no dudéis en visitar su blog porque es una gran fuente de inspiración.

dottie angel is Tif Fussel, one of those unique persons who made things that are so pretty that you never get tired of looking at them.

I don't know if I should define her as a knitter or as a embroiderer because her speciality and distinctive element is wool embroidery or "woolly tattoes" (as she likes to call them) in clothes and garments that she has previously knitted or crocheted.

The mixture of both techniques derives into original and wonderful works which I'm in love with and which I envy in a positive way because  I would love to have the ability to be so creative.

Actually she is much more than what it is shown in these pictures, so don't hesitate in visiting her blog because it is a great source of inspiration.

L'Audacieuse - Breaking the Wool

Hace unas semanas os contaba aquí que ya había terminado mi cuello de Breaking the Wool, pero hasta ahora no había tenido tiempo de hacerle fotos en condiciones.

Esta marca está especializada en kits para tejer cuellos y bufandas para grandes y pequeños y todos los modelos son muy sencillos de hacer, así que son perfectos para proyectos rápidos o para gente que está aprendiendo a tejer.

Yo he escogido el modelo L'Audacieuse, un cuello de lana con forma de pico en la parte delantera. La lana es una mezcla de mohair y acrílico y no os podéis imaginar lo suavecita y agradable que es.

Desde que lo terminé me lo he puesto mucho porque es muy cómodo y muy calentito. Ya se ha convertido en uno de mis básicos imprescindibles para este invierno.


A couple of weeks ago I told you here that I had already finished my  Breaking the Wool cowl, but until now I didn't have time to take some pictures properly.

This brand is specialised in cowls and scarves knitting kits for adults and little ones and all their patterns are very easy to make, so they are perfect for quick projects or people who are learning to knit.

I chose  L'Audacieuse pattern, a wool cowl shaped as a peak in the front. The wool is a blend of  mohair and acrylic and you just can't imagine how soft and nice it is.

Since I finished it I've wore it a lot because it is very comfortable and warm. It has already become on of my basic winter essentials.

Pequeños caprichos confesables / Little confessable whims: El Costurero Magazine

Hacía tiempo que no os mostraba mis caprichos, aunque los sigo teniendo en gran cantidad y variedad. 

Mi última pequeña tentación ha sido El Costurero Magazine una revista de manualidades que conocía por las redes sociales pero que hasta ahora nunca había comprado.

La semana pasada lanzaron una promoción en la que se podían conseguir los números 4 y 5 a un precio especial, así que me pareció el momento perfecto para conocerla en primera persona.

Además de las revistas añadí a mi pedido un kit de costura para hacer un estuche craft porque no pude resistirme al estampado de la tela (¡es una preciosidad!).

Este fin de semana he podido leer las dos revistas con detenimiento y me han encantado por la variedad y calidad de los contenidos. Incluye artículos de todo tipo: entrevistas a creadores, recetas de cocina, tutoriales variados, tendencias, etc...

Creo que he encontrado una nueva fuente de inspiración...

It's been a longtime since I last showed you my whims, although I still have many and different ones .

My last temptation is  El Costurero Magazine a crafts magazine that I already knew by social networks but that until now I have never bought before.

Last week they launched a special price offer for their issues number 4 and 5, so I thought it was the perfect moment to know the magazine in first person.

In addition to the magazines I also bought a craft case sewing kit because I just couldn't resist myself to the pattern of the fabric (it's so pretty!)

This weekend I had time to read both issues in depth and I loved them for the variety and quality of the contents. They include different types of contents: interviews with crafters, cooking recipes, assorted tutorials, trends, etc...

I think I've found a new inspiration source...

Happy (Valentine's) Weekend

Mañana es 14 de Febrero y aunque yo nunca he celebrado el Día San Valentín de una manera especial es una fiesta que me gusta, al margen de los intereses comerciales que la rodean.

Por eso no me parece mal encontrar la excusa perfecta para seguir experimentando con el DIY que os enseñé aquí y alegrar un poco la casa con una decoración de San Valentín que puede servir para todo el año.

¡Espero que paséis un fin de semana con mucho amor del bueno!

Tomorrow is February 14th and although I have never celebrated Valentine's Day in a special way it is a celebration that I like, apart from all the commercial interests that sorround it.

So I don't think it is a bad idea to find the perfect excuse to continue experimenting with the DIY that I showed you here and to brighten up the house with a Valentine's decoration that you can use all year long.

En proceso / Work in progress

Esta semana está haciendo muchísimo frío y yo, ilusa de mí, estoy deseando que llegue la primavera y por eso tejo con ilusión mi jersey Sous Sous KAL pensando en cuando la temperatura sea más agradable y pueda ponérmelo.

Todavía queda mucho hasta que llegue ese momento, así que por ahora me conformo con soñar mientras sigo tejiendo a mi ritmo...

This week is being really cold and I, naive me, am looking forward springtime so I am excited knitting my Sous Sous KAL sweater while I think in the moment when temperature will be more kind to wear it.

It's a long time until that moment arrives, so by now I resign myself to dreaming while I keep knitting at my own my pace...

Gorrito de niña y bufanda / Girly hat and scarf

Entre las cosas que tejí en Navidad no podía faltar algo para mi sobrina que últimamente la tenía un poco abandonada.

Ya le había tejido este gorro, pero en su carta de los Reyes Magos también estaba apuntado un conjunto de gorro y bufanda por lo que esta vez tenía que buscar algo de un estilo diferente.

Tenía claro que iba a utilizar unos ovillos de mi reserva de DROPS Karisma en gris claro, mi color favorito para los accesorios por lo fácil que es de combinar con casi todo.

Así que pensando en un gorro de lan de estilo clásico me acordé del patrón Baby Hat de Marjoline Petit que había guardado en mis favoritos de Ravelry  hace tiempo y decidí combinarlo con una bufanda tejida en punto bobo (en este caso no seguí ningún patrón para hacerla).

Como toque final se me ocurrió hacer un pequeño adorno con unos mini pompones en morado, fucsia y rosa, sin duda mi parte favorita del conjunto.

Por el momento le está dando buen uso al gorro y a la bufanda, así que tendré que ir cogiendo ideas para el invierno que viene...

Among the things I knitted for Christmas I couldn't miss something for my niece who I had neglected a little bit lately.

I had already knitted this hat for her, but in her letter to the Three Wise Kings it was also included a hat and scarf set so this time I had to look for something of a different style.

I was sure that I was going to use some skeins from my stash of  DROPS Karisma in light grey, my favorite colour for accesories because it is very easy to match with almost everything.

So thinking of a classic style wool hat I remembered the pattern  Baby Hat by Marjoline Petit which was in my  Ravelry favorites quite a while ago so I decided to match it with a garter stitch scarf (in this case I didn't follow any specific pattern to make it).

As final touch I came out with making a small embellishment with some tiny pom poms in purple, fuchsia and pink,which is beyond any doubt my favorite part of the ensemble.

At the moment it seems like she is using the hat and the scarf a lot, so I will have to start looking for some ideas for next winter...

Cosas que me gustan / Things I like # 23 - Simple Slouchy Beanie

Me había prometido a mí misma no empezar ningún proyecto nuevo hasta no acabar alguna de las cosas que tengo empezadas, pero esta semana está haciendo mucho frío y la idea de tejer un gorro para mí es cada vez más tentadora.

Me apetece hacer algo sencillo y fácil de combinar y el patrón Simple Slouchy Beanie de Kelly Kingston  me parece el candidato perfecto.

La parte buena es que ya tengo una lana que le iría de maravilla, así que si al final caigo en la tentación me sentiré un poco menos culpable.

I had promised myself not to start a new project until I had finished some of the things I have in progress, but this week it's being really cold and the idea of knitting a new hat for me is becoming more and more tempting.

I feel like making something simple and easy to match and the Simple Slouchy Beanie pattern by Kelly Kingston seems like the perfect candidate.

The good thing is that I already have some yarn that would be perfect for it, so if I finally fall into temptation I will feel a little less guilty.

Cuellos de lana / Wool cowls

Este fin de semana ha estado nevando sin parar y parece que todavía nos queda lo peor, así que sólo puedo pensar en prendas de lana que protejan del frío, como estos cuellos de lana que hice en Navidad (ya os avisé aquí de que tejí mucho durante el periodo navideño).

Para hacerlos no seguí ningún patrón en especial, simplemente tejí hasta alcanzar la largura que quería y luego cosí los dos extremos para unirlos.

Utilicé el punto bobo porque en mi opinión es uno de los puntos más bonitos que hay y además queda muy bien en cualquier cosa que decidamos hacer.

Los cuellos fueron un encargo que me hicieron, pero a pesar de su simplicidad me gustó tanto cómo quedaron que ahora me parece imprescindible tener uno yo también.   

Last weekend it's been snowing all the time and it seems that the worst is still to come. so all I can think of are wool garments to protect from cold weather, like these wool cowls I made at Christmas (I already told you here that I knitted a lot during the Christmas period).

I didn't follow any specific pattern to make them, I just knitted until I reached the desired length and then I sewed the two ends together.

I used garter stitch because in my opinion it is one of the most beautiful stitches and it looks great in anything we decide to make too.

The cowls where a custom order, but despite their simplicity I liked them so much that now I find essential to have one for me too.
