Wool Lovers ♥ 7 - Happy Dogs

Seguro que alguna vez habéis oído que los perros no pasan frío pero es una idea que yo no comparto y creo que, al igual que nosotros, a veces necesitan abrigarse.

Hace unos años hice un abrigo de lana para mi perro Rocky siguiendo este patrón de DROPS Design y aunque no he vuelto a tejer nada para él me encantaría hacerle alguna prenda más así que he recopilado cinco ideas geniales para que nuestros pequeños amigos peludos vayan calentitos sin perder una pizca de elegancia.

Me encanta ver que no soy la única (loca) que adora a los perros vestidos con lana ♥

P.D: Entre las ideas que he seleccionado hay un poco de todo: patrones, kits DIY, productos terminados, un tutorial para reciclar jerséis... así que no tenéis excusa para no darle un capricho a vuestra mascota.

I am sure you have heard sometime that dogs don't feel cold but it is an idea I don't agree with and I think that, just as we do, they sometimes need to wrap themselves warm.

Some years ago I made a wool coat for my dog  Rocky following this pattern by  DROPS Design and although I haven't knitted anything else for him I would love to make him some more garments so I have gathered five cool ideas to keep our little furry friends warm without loosing not even a bit of elegance.

I love to see that I am not the only (crazy) one who loves dogs in wool clothes ♥

P.S: Among the ideas I have chosen there's a lit bit of everything:  patterns, DIY kits, finished products, a tutorial to recycle sweaters... so you have no excuse to not cocoon your pet.

Viaje a Nueva York / Trip to New York

Como ya os adelanté hace unos semanas a finales de octubre estuve de viaje en Nueva York y, como era de esperar, volví enamorada de la ciudad.

Después de haber visto tantas imágenes de Nueva York en series y películas era un poco como si ya lo conociera pero al mismo tiempo no dejaba de sorprenderme con cada rincón de la ciudad que iba descubriendo.

Además de todos los sitios típicos que hay que visitar, una de las cosas que más me gusto fue el ambiente. Tuvimos mucha suerte de hacer el viaje en otoño, coincidiendo con la celebración de Halloween y con miles de calabazas por todas partes... hasta se sentía un poco el espíritu pre-navideño.

En fin, que acabo de llegar y ya estoy deseando volver...

As I already told you a couple of weeks ago at the end of October I made a trip to New York and, as expected, I fell in love with the city.

After seeing so many images of New York in TV shows and films I felt as I already know it somehow but at the same time I just couldn't stop being surprised by each corner of the city I discovered.

In addition to all the must-visit places, one of the things I liked the most was the atmosphere. We were very lucky to travel in autumnn, during Halloween celebration and with thousands of pumpkins everywhere... I could almost feel a little of pre-Christmas spirit.

In short, I just arrived home and I am already looking forward to coming back...

Pingüino de amigurumi / Amigurumi penguin

Parece que el frío ha llegado para quedarse así que hoy comparto este pingüino de amigurumi  con bufanda que hice en verano pero que entonces no tenía mucho sentido publicar.

El patrón es de Amigurumi Collection Vol. 4  un libro japonés con un montón de muñequitos de ganchillo de todo tipo que está sin traducir, así que yo me guío con los diagramas para seguir las instrucciones.

Si repaso las últimas entradas del blog últimamente he hecho muchos amigurumi  pero son todos tan diferentes entre ellos que no me canso de hacerlos... ¿A alguien más le pasa?

It seems that cold weather has come to stay so today I am sharing this amigurumi penguin with scarf that I made during the summer but which had little sense to publish then.

The pattern is from Amigurumi Collection Vol. 4 a Japanese book with lots of different crochet dolls which is not translated so I have to read the diagrams to follow the instructions.

If I review my latest posts lately I have made many  amigurumi but they are so different from each other that I can't get enough of making them... Does anyone feel the same?

Cosas que me gustan / Things I like # 36 - Big Hero Wool

Como buena tejedora tengo debilidad por los ovillos bonitos y entre mis favoritos están los de lana gordita en colores vivos como estas madejas gigantes en lana merino de BettaKnit.

Se me ocurren muchas cosas que hacer con ellas pero sin dudarlo mi primera opción sería una manta XXL como las que os enseñé aquí.

¿Os imagináis qué maravilla?

As good knitter I have a weakness for pretty balls and chunky wool in bright colours are among my favorites just as these giant merino wool skeins by  BettaKnit.

I can think of many things to do with them but for sure my first choice would be a XXL blanket as the ones I showed you here.

Can you imagine how wonderful it would be?

Happy (Crafting) Weekend

Si me seguís por Instagram ya sabréis que he estado unos días en Nueva York pero ya estoy de vuelta, con ganas de retomar mis agujas y de disfrutar del otoño en casa que es algo que me encanta.

El viaje ha sido una maravilla, mi primera vez en la Gran Manzana así que os podéis imaginar lo mucho que he alucinado con todo pero bueno... esto ya os lo contaré otro día.

Ahora lo que toca es retomar el ritmo otra vez y nada mejor que hacerlo con una buena taza de té y una sesión de punto.

If you follow me on  Instagram you will already know that I have spent some days in New York but now I am back, willing to pick up my needles again and to enjoy autumn at home which is something I love.

The trip was wonderful, my first time in the Big Apple so you can imagine how so very amazed I was by everything but anyway... I would talk about that another day.

Now it's time to pick up the pace again  and nothing better than doing it with a good cup of tea and a knitting session.
